We work in a Baptist church, but our faith is about so much more than our religion or denomination. We are Christians with a relationship with Christ. Our individual relationship with Christ is the single most important thing to us. We are sinners that mess up every single day, many times a day, but we have a perfect God who loves us anyway. Because our faith centers around our relationship with Christ, we spend time cultivating that relationship through prayer, Bible reading, Scripture memorization and fellowship with other believers.
We do not have it all figured out. We do, however, have very real, intimate and growing relationships with Christ.
This is what we personally believe:
We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired and inerrant Word.
(II Timothy 3:15-17, II Peter 1:21)
We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30)
We believe we are all sinners by nature and by choice and therefore are condemned to eternal ruin.
(Romans 6:23)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins; and by God's grace through repentance and faith we are saved only because of the shedding of His blood.
(John 3:16-19; 5:24, Romans 3:23; 5:8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5)
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells each true Christian and guides and enables them to live a more godly life.
(Romans 8:13-14, I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20, Ephesians 4:30; 5:18)
We believe in the unique virgin birth of Jesus Christ; His death and the resurrection of His crucified body, His ascension into heaven, His imminent return, and His sweet intercession for us.
(1 Corinthians 15:1-8)
We believe that we as Christians are to be examples of the love of God in this world. We believe this means showing Christ's love to everyone even if they look or believe differently than us.
(I John 4:16-17)
We believe that all Christians are to go into the whole world and to preach the Gospel to every living creature.
(Mark 16:15, Matthew 28:19-20)
We believe that Christians should be actively involved and serving in a local church.
(Acts 2:42)
We believe in God's Sweet Mercy and Amazing Grace.
